Frisian singer-songwriter Aafke Zuidersma lives in the north of The Netherlands. From an early age she is passionate about music. At the age of 6, she started singing and she hasn’t stopped since. Through the years she was part of various cover bands and many other musical projects.
Aafke is most passionate about writing her own songs. She mainly writes in English and in Frisian. Her warm voice has stolen many hearts already and her characteristic sound takes people into a musical journey. Her dream is to make a record with her originals, co-operate with good musicians and wonderful people and travel the world with her own music.
In 2016 she won the Frisian song contest “Liet” with the Frisian song “Minsk fan wearde” (“Man of value”) and will participate at Liet International 2017 with this song. She wrote this song for a deceased friend. Aafke is joined on stage by Branda Wolters, Bouke Schaap and Ytzen Peterson.
