Afro-Carib Ensemble

The Afro-Caribbean Ensemble is named after the various indigenous percussion instruments as they play drums and shakers, coming from the winti culture of Suriname. The fusion of traditional Kawina music, melodic pop, rock and funk and Latin creates enormous danceable, dynamic Kawinabeats and a beautiful pallet of sweet ‘Suripop’ ballads.

Sranan Tongo (also known as Surinamese) is an English-based creole language that is spoken as a lingua franca by approximately 500.000 people in Suriname.
