WHɎTE comprises Gaelic singer-songwriter Alasdair C. Whyte and electronic composer and musician Ross Whyte. They self-penned songs and instrumental pieces, as well as contemporary arrangements of rarely-heard traditional Gaelic songs. Their debut album Fairich was released in 2016. They are currently working on their second album.
Scottish Gaelic is a Celtic language. Most of modern Scotland was once Gaelic-speaking, as evidenced especially by Gaelic-language place names. Nowadays, about 57.000 people are able to speak Scottish Gaelic.
